RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University sophomore Sierra Gallagher (Honolulu, Hawaii/Kamehameha) and senior Jazlyn Pipkins (Paris, Texas/Paris) were named to the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Volleyball All-Tournament Team.
The All-Tournament Team was announced at the conclusion of the CACC Championship Match on Sunday afternoon at the Campus Center Gymnasium on the campus of Holy Family University in Philadelphia, Pa. Conference and tournament media relations staff selected team members. The complete all-tournament team is listed below.
The selections mark the first time Felician has ever has more than one player selected to the same CACC All-Tournament team in the 16-year history of the Golden Falcon program. Gallagher becomes Felician's first two-time All-Tournament selection in the sport of women's volleyball.
Felician played two matches in this year's conference championship tournament, a 3-1 home victory over Wilmington (Del.) University on Nov. 19 and a 3-2 road loss to Holy Family University last Saturday. Gallagher, a 5-foot-5 libero, averaged 5.78 digs and 1.11 assists per set. She totaled 23 digs, six assists and an ace against the Wildcats and followed with 29 digs and five assists versus the Tigers. Gallagher received serve at a .973 rate in the tournament (one receiving error in 37 attempts).
Pipkins posted an attack percentage of .485 with 1.89 kills and 2.11 blocks per set during the postseason. She hit .600 with six kills and nine blocks against Wilmington. She completed her career on Saturday with her first collegiate double-double, registering 11 kills and 10 blocks during the loss to Holy Family while hitting .435. The 10 total blocks tied the Felician single match record held by Danielle Norman.
Gallagher was also named the 2019 CACC Defensive Player of the Year and to the all-conference First Team. She leads the NCAA Division II East Region with 5.73 digs per set, and set a Felician single-season record with 654 digs. She is a 2018 graduate of Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama.
Pipkins will graduate as Felician's all-time leader in total blocks with 212. She also holds the top two single-season blocking marks in program annals, with her 88 this season surpassing her own school record of 75 in 2018. She is a 2015 graduate of Paris (Texas) High and came to Felician from Cedar Valley College.
The Golden Falcons, guided by 2019 CACC Coach of the Year John Chang, amassed an overall won-lost record of 16-18. They won the CACC North Division regular-season championship for the first time (13-6) and reached their first CACC semifinal.
