RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University sophomore Sierra Gallagher (Honolulu, Hawaii/Kamehameha) has been selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 6, the CACC announced on Monday. Gallagher earns the award for the second consecutive week and the fourth time in her career.
Gallagher, a 5-foot-5 libero, posted two of the top five single-match dig totals in the 16-year history of the Felician program during the Golden Falcons' 2-0 week. She amassed 34, plus five aces, during a 3-2 home victory over Concordia (N.Y.) College on Oct. 2. Gallagher followed with 36 digs, one short of the school record, and five assists in a five-set win at Goldey-Beacom College on Saturday. She averaged 7.00 digs per set on the week.

Gallagher has played in 14 matches for the Golden Falcons this season. She leads the CACC and is 39th nationally in NCAA Division II with 5.31 digs per set while also averaging 1.03 assists. She is already among Felician's all-time top 10 in both categories, with 704 career digs and 406 assists. Gallagher is a 2018 graduate of Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama.
Felician (7-12, 5-1 CACC) is guided by sixth-year head coach John Chang of Cranford. It is in first place in the CACC North Division and has tied a school record with four consecutive victories. Gallagher and the Golden Falcons are next in action on Thursday when they face Nyack College at 7 p.m. in Nyack, N.Y.
