The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's Fall 2019 Feature Series is titled "Impactful Service -- Making Yourselves and Others Better."

The CACC will spotlight the community service efforts of four student-athletes from each of its 14 member schools through December. Felician University is the second insitution in the series to be featured.

Four Golden Falcons were chosen and asked to answer the following questions:

  • Name a community service event in which you recently took part.
  • What lessons did you learn by participating in the event?
  • How do you apply those lessons in your life since taking part in the activity?

Below is how Felician WOMEN'S BASKETBALL freshman guard Tiara Mahorn (Irvington, N.J./Irvington) responded.

Tiara Mahorn -- CACC Fature Series Fall 2019

Transcript: "I took part in the Tunnel To Towers 5K Walk and Run in New York City with the Felician Women's Basketball Team. It was amazing to see the mindset of the people that took part in the event. People that had lost loved ones holding picture frames, people missing limbs or in wheelchairs, firemen in full gear. It's an event I never would have thought of participating in on my own, but I would definitely do it again because of the positive attitudes of the people that had suffered such loss. I left with positive reinforcement in my life and I appreciated what I had even more than I did prior to."
