BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – The Felician University men's soccer team was dealt a 1-0 defeat by host Bloomfield College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action on Wednesday night at Foley Field.

The only scoring in the defensive-minded affair came with 10 minutes, five seconds remaining in the first half. Bloomfield freshman forward Luis Pino-Leite (Parede, Portugal) dribbled to the left side of the 18-yard box to free himself for a shot past a diving goalkeeper and inches inside the left post.

The teams evenly split six first-half shot attempts. The match grew more end-to-end as regulation time wound down. The last six minutes saw Felician (2-7, 1-4 CACC) come up empty on several attempts to gain the equalizer.

Junior Guillermo Sanchez Duque (Malaga, Spain) preserved the one-goal deficit by clearing a rebound away from his keeper, freshman Alex Kiwowicz (Garfield, N.J.), with fewer than seven minutes to play. Moments later, Felician teammate Eduardo Rossi (Madrid, Spain) drove an open shot over the crossbar. With 1:12 remaining, a Leo Yang (Seoul, South Korea) shot from short range was saved by a Bear defender. The Golden Falcons then earned two corner kicks during the game's final 30 seconds but were not dangerous on either.

Felician spent almost the entire night competing with a player disadvantage. During the fifth minute, a Golden Falcon player was issued a red card for a foul denying a goal-scoring opportunity Forty-two fouls were called in the contest (24-18 Bloomfield) and four subsequent cautions booked.

Bloomfield (3-6, 2-3) ended the match with a 10-7 shot advantage, although Felician held the edge in corners, 6-1. Bear freshman keeper Jomar Vizcaino (New Brunswick, N.J.) needed to make only one save to earn the shutout. Kiwowicz was credited with one save in 85 minutes.
