The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's Fall 2019 Feature Series is titled "Impactful Service -- Making Yourselves and Others Better."
The CACC will spotlight the community service efforts of four student-athletes from each of its 14 member schools through December. Felician University is the second insitution in the series to be featured.
Four Golden Falcons were chosen and asked to answer the following questions:
- Name a community service event in which you recently took part.
- What lessons did you learn by participating in the event?
- How do you apply those lessons in your life since taking part in the activity?
Below is how Felician MEN'S GOLF junior Adrian Mayorga (Valley Cottage, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) responded.
Transcript: "Working with the Felician Young Entrepreneurs' Club; there is great satisfaction in seeing your peers develop work skills and watching them transition into and prepare for the workforce. Being part of the Nyack Homeless Project it made me realize that goods we take for granted on an everyday basis, others see as valuable and appreciate them that much more. It was satisfying to be able to collect those good for those individuals. Being a student-athlete is a privilege. If we can use that status to better serve others, that's an honor."
