The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's Fall 2019 Feature Series is titled "Impactful Service -- Making Yourselves and Others Better."

The CACC will spotlight the community service efforts of four student-athletes from each of its 14 member schools through December. Felician University is the second insitution in the series to be featured.

Four Golden Falcons were chosen and asked to answer the following questions:

  • Name a community service event in which you recently took part.
  • What lessons did you learn by participating in the event?
  • How do you apply those lessons in your life since taking part in the activity?

Below is how Felician MEN'S BASKETBALL senior guard/forward Rachid Shimou (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) responded.

Rachid Shimou - CACC Feature Series

Transcript: "I have volunteered at a local homeless shelter delivering food, water and clothing. After working there, I don't take anything I have for granted. Don't waste food. It's important for people to save unused items, as those are valuable donation items. One person's unused items can truly be another person's treasure."
