RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshmen Mike Secreti (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) and Sabrina Roldan (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) have been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookies of the Week for men's cross-country and women's cross-country, respectively, the CACC announced on Monday. Both student-athletes were honored for the period ending Oct. 13.
Secreti wins the award for the fifth time this season, and has earned it after each time he has raced in 2013. His latest honor comes on the heels of his sixth-place finish at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial, hosted by Philadelphia University on Saturday morning at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia.
Secreti traversed the 8,000-meter course in 28 minutes, 10 seconds, and was the top freshman finisher in the 104-runner field. He was Felician's No. 1 man, and led the Golden Falcons to a third-place result out of 13 teams. He is a 2013 graduate of Paramus High.
Roldan earns her second consecutive CACC Rookie of the Week award, sharing this week's honor with Jessica Theis of Philadelphia U. On Saturday, she ran the 20th-fastest 6,000-meter time in Felician history, finishing eighth at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial in 25:42. She helped the Golden Falcons place fourth out of 12 schools.
Roldan is a 2013 graduate of Woodbridge High.
