RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College sophomore Olivia Emerson (Sparks, Nev./Edward C. Reed) has been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 13, the CACC announced on Monday.
Emerson becomes the first player in the 10-year history of the Felician women's volleyball program to be named the CACC Player of the Week twice. She was also honored earlier this season on Sept. 30.
In a 2-1 week for the Golden Falcons, Emerson posted a .376 attack percentage with 5.30 kills per set. She also averaged 2.30 digs, 0.60 blocks and 0.40 service aces. She helped lead Felician to consecutive three-set victories for the first time in team history, as the Golden Falcons clamed 3-0 wins at Post University on Wednesday and at home against Bloomfield College on Friday. She put down 22 kills in Saturday's four-set home loss to Holy Family University.
For the season, Emerson, a 5-foot-11 outside hitter, leads the CACC and ranks 23rd nationally in NCAA Division II with 3.90 kills per set. She is a 2012 graduate of Truckee Meadows Community College High School, but played scholastically for Edward C. Reed High.
