RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Anne M. Prisco, Ph.D., president of Felician College, is inviting the Felician and southern Bergen County communities to enjoy a "Green-Out Night" as the Golden Falcon women's volleyball team hosts Mercy College on Thursday, September 19. The match's first service will take place at 7 p.m.
In the spirit of the event, Felician team members will wear their green warm-ups, and Golden Falcon fans are also encouraged to wear dark green. Admission is FREE for all fans, but voluntary donations will be accepted at the door by members of the Felician Student-Athlete Advisory Committee to benefit the National Make-A-Wish Foundation, of which NCAA Division II is a national sponsor.
A free face-painting station will be available in the gymnasium lobby for the young and the young-at-heart. Green-Out T-shirts will be given away while supplies last. Fans will also be able to meet members of the new-look Felician cheerleading squad, which will hold a bake sale.
The Felician women's volleyball team (0-2, 0-1 CACC), coached by Amber Butler, is looking to return to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference playoffs for the first time since 2007. The top four teams in the CACC North Division at season's end will qualify for the league tournament. The Golden Falcons will also host Dominican (N.Y.) College in CACC action on Tuesday.
Felician plays its home women's volleyball matches at Job Gymnasium on its Rutherford Campus. More information is available by contacting Mark Mentone, sports information director, at (201) 559-3333 or MentoneM@felician.edu.
