WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Felician University women's outdoor track & field team began its 2016 season by participating in the Monmouth University Season Opener on Saturday. This marks the second season in program history, and the first under head coach Rob DeCarlo Jr.

In a meet rife with Division-I competition, Felician junior Kate Rohsler (Fredon, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) performed the best of the Golden Falcon attendees relative to her competition. In the 800 meter run, Rohsler finished 30th out of 39 competitors with a school-record time of two minutes, 34.29 seconds.

Two other Felician athletes were the first in program history to compete in their events. Sophomore Giorvania LeRouge (Elizabeth, N.J./Elizabeth) finished 53rd in the 200 meters (32.67), and graduate student Taylor Parker (Surrey, British Columbia/Semiahmoo) was 15th in the shot put (6.82 meters).

Rounding out Felician's participants was junior Sabrina Roldan (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge), who ran 5:34.75 in the 1,500 meters and placed 54th.

Eight of the nine teams to score points were members of NCAA Division-I, with seventh-place Montclair State University (23 points) the lone exception. Host Monmouth easily won the event with 287 points.
