LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Sophomore jumper Stephanie Hesse (Lincoln Park, N.J./Boonton) was responsible for five of Felician College's nine points in the 2015 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship, hosted by Georgian Court University on Sunday.
The meet concluded the inaugural season for Felician, and was the only competition of the season for the Golden Falcons that included team scoring. Felician tied for seventh place with Chestnut Hill College.
Hesse placed fifth out of nine competitors, worth four points, in the triple jump. She recorded a season-best leap of 9.52 meters. She scored another point by finishing eighth of 13 entrants in the long jump. In that event, she jumped 4.38 meters, also a season high.
Sophomore Sabrina Roldan (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) recorded the other four points for Felician by placing fifth out of 15 in the 1,500-meter run. Roldan completed the race in a season-best five minutes, 8.83 seconds. Roldan also ran in the 800 meters and was 11th in 2:46.31
Senior Andrea Sarracino (Wood-Ridge, N.J./St. Mary-Rutherford) won her heat in the 1,500, but settled for ninth place with a time of 5:35.22.
The rest of Felician's contingent was also entered in the 1,500. Senior Sylvia Bialy (Lodi, N.J./Lodi) was 11th, clocking in a 5:50.18, followed by classmates Lianne Rossi (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) (14th, 6:15.46) and Sam Kamphausen (East Rutherford, N.J./Becton) (15th, 7:21.72).
