Track Stays Local For CACC Tune-Up

NEWARK, N.J. – Felician College claimed four of the top six finishers in the women's 1,500 meter run during the Brick City Track &  Field Classic, co-hosted by New Jersey Institute of Technology and Essex County College on Sunday at Newark Schools Stadium.

The meet was the final one for the Golden Falcons prior to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference championship, to be hosted by Georgian Court University on Sunday, May 3. The Felician women's outdoor track & field squad is in its inaugural season.

Sophomore Sabrina Roldan (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) led a pack of Golden Falcons in the 1,500, finishing third out of 14 entrants with a time of five minutes, 20.18 seconds. The next three runners to cross the line were all from Felician and did so within five seconds of each other.

Senior Andrea Sarracino (Wood-Ridge, N.J./St. Mary) was fourth in 5:50.26. She was followed closely by senior Sylvia Bialy (Lodi, N.J./Lodi) (5th, 5:52.51) and junior Michelle Camacho (Moonachie, N.J./Wood-Ridge) (6th, 5:55.36)

Sarracino also ran in the 800 meters, and placed ninth out of 14 entrants with a time of 2:52.75

The meet was not scored on a team basis.
