WILMINGTON, Del. – The Felician University women's soccer team came up on the short end of a 6-0 decision to host Goldey-Beacom College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field. The matched marked the beginning of 2018 CACC play for both schools.

Senior forward Cliona Crammond (Wicklow, Ireland) recorded two goals and an assist and sophomore forward Alanna Speaks (Dover, Del.) also scored twice for Goldey-Beacom (4-0, 1-0 CACC).

The Lightning piled up a 15-0 first-half shot advantage. Their pressure eventually paid off, as both of their first-half goals came when Speaks knocked home rebounds. She put her team on the scoreboard in the 20th minute. Felician sophomore goalkeeper Jamie Kazenmayer (Forked River, N.J.) saved a Jenna Fannon (Newark, Del.) shot, only to see Speaks push the rebound inside the right goalpost.

Similarly, in the 38th minute, Kazenmayer was unable to control the ball after stopping a Melayna Immediato (Hockessin, Del.) offering. The opportunistic Speaks was the first to the rebound and finished.

GBC took full control when Fannon scored from 15 yards away with just two minutes, 22 seconds, gone by in period two. Crammond tallied in the 61st and 78th minutes before assisting on an Immediato marker with 9:04 to play.

The Lightning finished the day ahead 26-5 in shots. Only two Golden Falcons, Jenna Fischetto (Wallington, N.J.) and Yosseline Marquez Perez (North Bergen, N.J.), put a ball on frame. Kazenmayer made eight saves and allowed four goals in 71 minutes.

Felician (0-3, 0-1) plays its home opener on Wednesday, entertaining Concordia (N.Y.) College at 5:30 p.m. at the Lyndhurst (N.J.) Recreation Complex.
