All-Academic Honors Bestowed On 19 Golden Falcons

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Nineteen Felician College student-athletes have been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Fall 2014 All-Academic Team, the CACC announced on Wednesday.

In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic Team, recipients must have participated in a CACC fall championship sport, be a second-year student-athlete who used a season of competition in 2014, have been a student at their current school for at least two semesters, and have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher. The CACC All-Academic program is in its 11th year.

Five Felician seniors – Lianne Rossi (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) of women's cross-country, and women's soccer players Christie Calandrillo (Lincoln Park, N.J./Morris Catholic), Kirsten Mortelliti (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton), Samantha Petosa (Spotswood, N.J./Spotswood) and Kristen Toropiw (Hopatcong, N.J./Hopatcong) were named to the CACC All-Academic Team for the third time, the maximum possible in one sport.

The women's soccer team, coached by Thomas Notte of Mount Arlington, claimed 11 honorees, matching its school record (set in 2013) for one sport in one year. The 19 overall winners were three more than Felician sported in Fall 2013.

In all, a conference record 218 student-athletes from the CACC's 14 member schools were honored this fall and can be viewed at; Felician's recipients are listed below with GPA and major course of study.
