Groves Elected To Capital One Academic All-District Team

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College student-athlete Macki Groves (Millville, N.J./Millville) has been voted to the Capital One Academic All-District Women's Soccer First Team for District 1 in NCAA Division II, as coordinated and selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

As a First Team selection, Groves will move on to represent Felician on the Division II Capital One Academic All-America® ballot.

Groves, a 5-foot-4 junior forward, is an Academic All-District selection for the first team. She is the 18th Golden Falcon to earn the honor at least once, including the fifth in women's soccer.

In 2014, Groves has started all 18 games for the Golden Falcons (10-4-3, 7-3-2 CACC). Her 13 goals and one assist make her the second-leading scorer in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, and she ranks fifth in the league in shots (57). A three-year starter, she has posted 22 goals and one assist in her career.

Groves was a member of the CACC Fall All-Academic Team a year ago. She is a biology major in Felician's pre-physician assistant program with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.95.

CoSIDA's District I for NCAA Division II is comprised of all members of the CACC, East Coast Conference, and Northeast-10 Conference. The entire set of 2014 Capital One Academic All-District Women's Soccer Teams can be viewed at
