Arcona Repeats As Academic All-American

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College senior Alysia Arcona (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) has been voted to the Capital One Academic All-America® NCAA Division II Women's Soccer second team, as coordinated and selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Arcona becomes the second student-athlete, and first female, in the 18-year history of the Felician athletics program to be named an Academic All-American twice. She was also a second-team selection in 2012.

Arcona is the Golden Falcons' first Academic All-American in the 2013-14 academic year. A complete list of Felician's Academic All-Americans and Academic All-District honorees can be viewed at

In 2013, Arcona started all 18 games for the Golden Falcons (4-9-5, 3-4-5 CACC). The 5-foot-9 forward led Felician in scoring with 12 points on five goals and two assists, and topped the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in shots (69). A four-year starter, she posted 25 goals and 19 assists in her career, both among Felician's all-time top 10.

Arcona is a three-time all-CACC performer, and earned Capital One Academic All-District honors three times. She was named the CACC Student-Athlete of the Month for September 2013. A 2010 graduate of Hackettstown High, Arcona owns a collegiate grade-point average of 3.96 as a double major in elementary education and English.

Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America® honors on more than 19,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
