RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshman Macki Groves (Millville, N.J./Millville) has been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week for the period ending Oct. 21, the CACC announced on Tuesday. She received the honor for the second time this season.
Groves, a 5-foot-4 midfielder, scored two goals in a 1-1 week for the Golden Falcons. Both tallies came in a span of 79 seconds in the second half of a 3-2 home victory over Georgian Court University last Saturday night. The pair of scores tied the game after Felician trailed at halftime, 2-0. The Golden Falcons scored again fewer than four minutes later, and the win kept them alive in the CACC playoff race.
Groves has registered six goals this season, good for second on Felician and tied for 16th place in the CACC. She is a 2012 graduate of Millville High, and was also named CACC Rookie of the Week on Sept. 4.
