RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College junior Jenn Hesse (Lincoln Park, NJ/Boonton) has been voted to the Capital One Academic All-District Women's Soccer First Team for District I in NCAA Division II, as coordinated and selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Felician junior JoJo Pisani (Wyckoff, NJ/Hasbrouck Heights) and sophomore Alysia Arcona (Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown) were Academic All-District Second-Team Selections.
The trio is the first CoSIDA Academic All-District honorees in Felician history in the sport of women's soccer. Hesse, as a First Team selection, will move on to represent Felician on the Division II Academic All-America ballot.
In 2011, Hesse, a 5-foot-5 defender, started all but one game at outside back for the 11-6-1 Golden Falcons. She recorded one assist, and helped Felician to five shutout victories and a 1.31 team goals-against average. A three-year starter, she carries a 3.96 grade-point average as a criminal justice major. Hesse was a 2010 Academic All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference honoree.
Pisani played her first season at central midfield after converting from forward, and was voted Honorable-Mention All-CACC. She was second on Felician with seven goals, and her totals of three assists and 18 points were both third on the squad. She transferred to Felician after spending her freshman year at The College of New Jersey. Pisani owns a 3.79 GPA as a nursing major.
Arcona, a 5-foot-9 striker, ranks second in the CACC in assists with 10 to go along with four goals. A 2010 Second-Team All-CACC honoree, she helped the Golden Falcons to a second-place finish in the league this season, their best result since 2001. She is majoring in elementary education with a GPA of 3.96.
CoSIDA's District I for NCAA Division II is comprised of all members of the CACC, East Coast Conference, and Northeast-10 Conference.
