SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. – Felician University came up on the short end of a 20-3 non-conference women's lacrosse decision to host Shepherd University on Friday afternoon at Ram Stadium. The loss completed non-league play for Felician in 2017.
Freshman Andrea Hill (Monroe, N.Y.) scored twice for Felician (0-9) and added three draw controls and one caused turnover. The other Golden Falcon score went to sophomore Liana Chirichiello (Waldwick, N.J.). She also turned in four ground balls and two draw controls.
Shepherd (3-9) scored twice in the game's first two minutes, and led, 4-0, with 8:12 gone by. Chirichiello scored with 21:08 left in the first half, but that was the only goal the Golden Falcons could find in the opening period. The Rams pushed to an 11-1 lead and forced running time on a Lillian Funke (Hagerstown, Md.) marker with 10:20 to play in the half, and were ahead, 13-1 at halftime.
Hill found the back of the net with 26:46 left in the contest, and converted a free-position opportunity at the 8:41 mark. She leads Felician with nine goals on the season.
Senior Haley Price (Eldersburg, Md.) led the Rams with five goals on Friday, including the 100th of her career. Funke finished with four goals and three assists.
Shepherd piled up 44-8 shot advantage. Felician freshman goalkeeper Megan Euler (Manchester, N.J.) made 15 saves, and led all players with six ground balls.
Felician has three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contests remaining in its season, including an Apr. 18 tilt at Wilmington (Del.) University.
