ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – Molloy College earned a 20-0 victory over visiting Felician University in non-conference women's lacrosse action on Sunday afternoon at John A. Darcy Field. Felician (0-2) was ending a 14-day competitive layoff.
Felician freshman goalkeeper Megan Euler (Manchester, N.J.) made nine saves in defeat.
Molloy (5-2) began the game at a blistering scoring pace, picking up seven goals in the first seven minutes, 39 seconds of action. With 17:47 left in the opening period, the Lions went up 10-0, forcing running time. They carried a 16-0 edge into halftime.
Molloy out-shot the Golden Falcons 30-1 in the first half and 42-9 for the game. Sophomore Liana Chirichiello (Waldwick, N.J.) led Felician with four shots. Senior Tainely Perez (Totowa, N.J.) had a pair of draw controls, and freshman Andrea Hill (Monroe, N.Y.) topped the Golden Falcon defense with two ground balls.
Junior Jessica Markowitz (Baldwin, N.Y.) led a balanced Molloy offense with four goals. Sophomore Michaela Siegler (Levittown, N.Y.) came off the bench to record five assists, and was one of three Lions with five points.
Felician's home and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener scheduled for Tuesday against Philadelphia University has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions. The Golden Falcons will travel to Georgian Court University on Mar. 25 for an 11 a.m. start.
