Euler Shines Despite Season-Opening Women's Lacrosse Loss

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Freshman goalkeeper Megan Euler (Manchester, N.J.) set a Felician University women's lacrosse record with 15 saves during the Golden Falcons' 18-1 non-conference loss to host Kutztown University on Saturday afternoon at Andre Reed Stadium.

Felician (0-1) began its second season of varsity intercollegiate competition.

Euler, who faced 37 shots, led Felician with six ground balls. She also recorded the first assist in program history.

Golden Falcon freshman Andrea Hill (Monroe, N.Y.) scored her first collegiate goal. Hill spoiled the Kutztown shutout by tallying with five minutes, 41 seconds, left in the second half. She added four ground balls, a team-high three caused turnovers, and one of Felician's two draw controls.

The Golden Bears (2-0) scored four times in the game's first seven minutes, with three coming off the stick of sophomore Makayla Bowman (Lansdale, Pa.). With 10:43 left in the half, Kutztown forced running time by taking an 10-0 lead, and the hosts carried an 11-0 edge into halftime. The Golden Bears led by 16 when Hill put Felician on the scoreboard.

Bowman topped a balanced Kutztown attack with four goals. Junior midfielder Lauren Huggins (Media, Pa.) led the Golden Bears with five assists and six points. Senior goalkeeper Abby Cox (York, Pa.) played 46 minutes to earn the victory.
