NEW CASTLE, Del. – Felician University senior right-hander Jessica Zalewski (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) was named to the All-Tournament team of the Wildcat D-II/D-III Invitational women's bowling event, hosted by Wilmington (Del.) University on Friday through Sunday at Bowlerama.

Collectively, Felician placed eighth out of 12 teams in the tournament. The Golden Falcons went 5-8 in their dual matches for the weekend

The individual standings were based on Saturday's five traditional team games. Zalewski and sophomore Nicole Aumack (Brick, N.J./Brick Township) were the only Felician competitors to start all five matches. Zalewski shot 948 (189.6 average) and finished fifth to nab the final all-tournament spot. It marks the third all-tournament honor of her career, matching classmate Kristen Keller (Reading, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) for the most in program history. Zalewski finished her day by shooting 225 and 215 in Matches 4 and 5.

Aumack placed eighth overall by toppling 911 pins (182.2 average), including a high game of 236. Seventy-four women started at least one match.

The tournament format called for five 5-game Baker matches on Friday, followed by Saturday's five traditional games. The dual match-ups were determined by random draw. The teams were then arranged into a playoff bracket for Sunday's competition, which consisted of three best-of-seven Baker matches.

The difficult, dry conditions saw many players using bowling balls normally reserved for spares. Scoring was at a premium, with the Golden Falcons averaging 167.0 for the weekend. Felician managed to exit both Friday and Saturday in sixth place, and was 5-5 in dual matches heading into Day 3. Four of the 10 matches were decided by 25 pins or fewer.

However, Felician went 0-3 on Sunday, losing in a seventh game on all three occasions, to fall to its final eighth place standing. The winless day left Felician with a 19-20 overall won-lost record at the conclusion of the fall semester.

No. 15 nationally-ranked Adelphi University defeated Kutztown University in the championship match, four games to two, to capture the tournament title. Adelphi was 13-0 in duals for the weekend.

Felician is off until January 26-28, 2018, when it travels to the Red Flash Invitational, hosted by Saint Francis (Pa.) University. At the end of fall semester competition, Aumack leads the Golden Falcons in traditional game average at 186.3 (minimum 10 game), followed by senior Heather Androvich (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) at 184.8.
