Felician's Aumack Named ECC Rookie Of The Week

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University freshman Nicole Aumack (Brick, N.J./Brick Township) has been chosen as the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Bowling Rookie of the Week for the period ending Feb. 26, the ECC announced today.

Aumack earns the honor for the first time this season. She was the ECC Player of the Week last week. She is the first ECC Rookie of the Week from Felician since teammate Kaitlyn Buck (Farmingdale, N.J./Howell) won the award twice last season.

Aumack, a 5-foot-5 right-hander, made the all-tournament team at last Saturday's Molloy College Invitational, a one-day, all-Baker event. She finished second individually with a frame average of 19.48 as the Golden Falcons went 5-0 in dual matches. The next day, Felician went 4-0 and Aumack posted a 17.52 frame average.

For the weekend, Aumack had a strike percentage of 59.3, and converted non-split spares at a 61.3 percent clip. More information is available at http://eccsports.org/sports/wbowl/2016-17/releases/WBOWL__3.1.17.pdf.

The Golden Falcons placed a season-best second, based on pinfall, at both one-day events hosted by Molloy last weekend. They are riding a school-record 13-match winning streak.

Aumack has started 17 out of 25 traditional matches for Felician this season, and is averaging a team-high 179.2. She is a 2016 graduate of Brick Township High.

Also on Wednesday, Felician junior right-hander Jessica Zalewski (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) was named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll.

Felician women's bowling is guided by third-year head coach Andrew Toriello of Wallington. Aumack, Zalewski and the Golden Falcons (48-30) are next in action this Friday through Sunday at the Hawk Flight Invite, hosted by Monmouth University in Egg Harbor Township, N.J.
