Buck Earns Second ECC Rookie Of The Week Award

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University freshman Kaitlyn Buck (Farmingdale, N.J./Howell) has been chosen as the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Bowling Rookie of the Week for the period ending Mar. 13, the ECC announced on Tuesday. Buck earns the award for the second time this season

Felician was accepted into the ECC as an associate member for the sport of women's bowling on Feb. 16.

Buck, a 5-foot-2 left-hander, competed with the Golden Falcons at the United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championship sectional qualifier on Mar. 12-13 in Stratford, N.J. After starting the weekend in the No. 4 spot in the line-up, she eventually made her first appearance at anchor for the Golden Falcons. She accumulated a Baker frame average of 18.95 for the weekend over 42 matches.

The Golden Falcons placed 14th out of 15 teams in the tournament.

Buck was also named the ECC Rookie of the Week on Feb. 16. She has started nine traditional team matches for Felician this season, and is averaging 159.2. She is a 2015 graduate of Howell High.

Felician women's bowling is guided by second-year head coach Andrew Toriello of Rutherford. Buck and the Golden Falcons (37-46) are next in action this Friday through Sunday, when they conclude their regular season at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic, hosted by Vanderbilt University in Smyrna, Tenn.
