RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Bloomfield College used strong defense and superior offensive rebounding to earn an 81-59 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's basketball victory over host Felician University on Saturday afternoon at Job Gymnasium.

The Bears also forced 25 Felician turnovers, which they converted into 32 points. The visitors owned a 48-42 rebounding edge, including 22-12 on the offensive glass, and amassed a 24-7 advantage in second-chance points.
The Bears, who never trailed, took control early, using a 13-1 first-quarter run to turn an 8-8 tie into a 12-point lead. Bloomfield settled for a 21-14 spread at the end of the first. Still ahead by nine with 6:23 to go in the opening half, the visitors went up by 19 late in the second quarter and 41-23 at halftime.
A three-point field goal by Bobbi Floyd (Las Vegas, Nev./Delaware State University) handed the Bears their largest lead of the day, 57-29, with 4:06 remaining in the third period. The hosts never drew closer than a 20-point deficit for the remainder of the contest.
Morgan Taylor (Paterson, N.J./John F. Kennedy) totaled 19 points for Bloomfield, and Floyd came off the bench to score 11 points with five rebounds in 17 minutes. Safiyyah Lee (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) (seven rebounds) and Marta Moix (Madrid, Spain/John Carroll School [Md.]) netted nine points apiece for Felician.
Trapp, the CACC's leading shot-blocker, recorded her third "double-double" in eight starts this season.
