Women's Basketball Puts Three On CACC All-Academic Team

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Three Felician University women's basketball student-athletes – seniors Sierra McDuffie (Paterson, N.J./PCTI) and Eliana Scanlon (New York, N.Y./Oak Hill Academy [Va.]) and sophomore Treanda Foster (Bronx, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) -- have been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Winter 2015-16 All-Academic Team, the CACC announced today. Scanlon earns the honor for the second time in her career, while McDuffie and Foster are first-time winners.

In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic Team, recipients must have used a season of eligibility while participating in a CACC winter championship sport, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, be a second-year student-athlete at their current school, and have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher at the end of the immediate preceding term.

McDuffie, a forward, played in 25 of Felician's 26 games this season, staring five. She averaged 3.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in 15.4 minutes per game. She carries a 3.51 GPA while majoring in management & marketing. McDuffie is a 2012 graduate of Passaic Tech.

Scanlon, a fifth-year senior guard, played in 24 games, starting 23. She led the Golden Falcons with 13.1 points per game, while also averaging 3.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists. She owns a bachelor's degree in psychology, and is pursuing a second bachelor's in biology with a GPA of 3.67. Scanlon is a 2011 graduate of Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., and transferred to Felician after one season at Division-I Gardner Webb University.

Foster is a forward/center who averaged 4.3 points and a team-high 6.8 rebounds in 25 games (24 starts). She mantains a 3.79 cumulative GPA while majoring in biology. She is a 2014 graduate of John F. Kennedy High of Bronx, N.Y.

Conference-wide, Foster, McDuffie and Scanlon were three of a league-record 46 student-athletes to be honored this winter from the 14 member schools. Felician now has had 18 CACC All-Academic honorees in the 2015-16 academic year.
