RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshman Shyla Osmond (New Haven, Conn./Hillhouse) has been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Co-Rookie of the Week for the period ending Jan. 25, the CACC announced today. The announcement marks the third consecutive week that Osmond has won or shared that award.
To earn her latest honor, Osmond, a 5-foot-5 shooting guard, averaged 19.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals in Felician's 1-1 week. On Jan. 21, she scored 21 points, shooting 4 for 6 from three-point range, in the Golden Falcons' home league victory over Post University. She followed with 17 points in a conference loss at Goldey-Beacom College on Sunday. Osmond played all 80 possible minutes on the week.

Osmond has played in 15 games for Felician this season, starting 14. She is averaging 14.1 points and 3.6 rebounds, and ranks second in the CACC with 2.93 steals per game. She also leads the Golden Falcons with 25 three-point field goals.
After beginning her scholastic career at Sacred Heart Academy of Hamden, Conn., Osmond graduated from High School in the Community in 2014. While attending HSC, she was an all-state selection for Hillhouse High.
Also on Monday, Felician senior forward Ashley Morris (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) and men's basketball senior forward J.R. Pringley (Elizabeth, N.J./Linden) were named to their sport's CACC Weekly Honor Roll.
Felician is guided by seventh-year head coach Steve Fagan of Howell. Osmond, Morris and the Golden Falcons (4-14, 3-8) are next in action on Saturday, when they travel to the regionally-ranked University of the Sciences for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
