Alexis Durando was named the interim coach of the Felician University softball program in September 2016, and was awarded the permanent head coaching position in July 2017. She is the sixth head coach in program history.
In Durando's first season at the helm, the Golden Falcons posted a won-lost record of 22-27 and qualified for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference playoffs. It was the most victories for the Felician softball program in 10 years. Under her watch, Nicole Spiegelberg was named the Golden Falcons' first-ever First Team All-Region honoree. In 2018, Felician tied for fourth place in the CACC and repeated as a league playoff participant.
Durando spent the 2016 season as a Felician assistant under Chris Foye.
Durando was a four-year member of the softball team at Division-I Rutgers University. As a senior in 2014, she was voted as the all-American Athletic Conference (AAC) Second-Team first baseman and to the AAC All-Tournament Team. She was a four-time member of the Big East Conference/AAC All-Academic Team.
While attending Rutgers, Durando was an intern in the athletics marketing department. She earned a B.S. in exercise science and sport studies in 2014. That summer and fall, she served as an 18U assistant with the NJ Hei$t travel program.
Durando was an all-state performer at Immaculate Heart Academy in Washington Township. She resides in Lake Hopatcong with her husband, Dan DeCongelio Jr., and is a sales representative for Stan's Sports Center.
