RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University junior Nicole Spiegelberg (Blauvelt, N.Y./Tappan Zee) was selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball Player of the Week for the period ending Mar. 3, the CACC announced on Monday. Spiegelberg wins the award for the first time this season and the third of her career.
Spiegelberg, a 5-foot-7 first baseman, went 8 for 17 (.471) during the first six games of Felician's 10-game trip to the PFX Athletics Spring Games in Clermont, Fla. Despite the Golden Falcons' 1-5 performance, the lefty swinger hit two home runs, scored five times, and drove in seven runs.
During Felician's only victory of the week, a 6-3 triumph over the University of Mary on Mar. 1, Spiegelberg was 3 for 4 with a double and four RBI. The double was her 100th career hit, allowing her to become the 21st Golden Falcon to reach that milestone.
