RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University freshman Nicole Spiegelberg (Blauvelt, N.Y./Tappan Zee) has been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball Rookie of the Week for the period ending Mar. 12, the CACC announced today. Spiegelberg earns the honor for the third time this season.
Spiegelberg, a 5-foot-6 designated player, batted .412 with a .500 on-base percentage in a 3-3 week for Felician, all in Clermont, Fla. She hit two home runs, both in a Mar. 7 victory over the College of Saint Rose, scored three runs, and drove in six. Spiegelberg turned in a .765 slugging percentage for the week.
On the season, Spiegelberg has started 15 games. She leads Felician with a .463 batting average, a .551 on-base percentage, an .878 slugging percentage, five home runs, and 15 RBI. She is a 2016 graduate of Tappan Zee High.
Felician is guided by first-year head coach Alexis Durando. Weather-permitting, Spiegelberg and the Golden Falcons (8-7, 0-0 CACC) will play their home and CACC opening doubleheader on Saturday at noon against Georgian Court University at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.
