RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College junior Ciera Clark (Granite Bay, Calif./Del Oro) has been named to the 2014 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NCAA Division II All-East Region Softball Second Team, the NFCA announced on Thursday.
Clark had already become the first Felician softball player to be elected All-Region in the Golden Falcons' 18-year history when she made the Daktronics Second Team earlier in the week. She is now a consensus all-region selection after being honored by both governing bodies that choose such teams.
Clark, a 5-foot-8 first-baseman, had been elected to the all-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference First Team. In 38 games, she batted .445 with 10 home runs and 43 runs batted in, all single-season Golden Falcon records. She added 13 doubles, one triple, and 35 runs scored. She is a 2011 graduate of Del Oro High of Loomis, Calif.
Felician completed 2014 with a won-lost record of 19-22, a four-win improvement over the previous season. The Golden Falcons finished ninth in the CACC with an 11-15 league mark, missing the conference playoffs by two games.
The NCAA Division II East Region is comprised of all members of the CACC, East Coast Conference, and Northeast-10 Conference; 37 schools are encompassed.
