Softball Claims Four NFCA Scholar-Athletes

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Four members of the 2011 Felician College softball team have been honored as National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar Athletes.

The award is given to players for any NFCA-member coach who post a 3.50 or better grade-point average for the academic year which includes that spring's playing season. More than 4,000 student-athletes nationwide were honored at the NCAA, NAIA, junior-college and high-school levels.

All four of Felician's honorees for 2010-11 are returning players, including rising senior co-captain Grace Keller (Hoboken, NJ/Holy Family Academy) (3.75 GPA for academic year). Three members of last year's freshman class received the award: Tori Bradburn (Ridge, MD/Great Mills) (3.91), Kelsi Ludwigsen (Havre de Grace, MD/Harford Tech) (3.97) and Halei Van Dyke (West Milford, NJ/West Milford) (3.95).

Felician registered a team cumulative GPA of 3.051. That total put the Golden Falcons 68th among Division II teams in the country, according to the NFCA.

Felician plays in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, and is coached by Lori Kwiatkowski. A complete list of NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes is available at http://www.nfca.org/pagebank/?id=1916.
