Albano Earns CACC Weekly Honor For Third Time In Row

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College senior Rob Albano (Pompton Plains, N.J./Pequannock Township) has been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Cross-Country Runner of the Week for the period ending Sept. 30, the CACC announced on Tuesday. Albano earns the honor for the third consecutive week and the 16th time in his career.

The latest honor for the 5-foot-8 Albano comes on the heels of his individual victory in the College White Race at the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University on Sept. 28 on Lehigh's Goodman Campus in Bethlehem, Pa. He clocked an 8,000-meter time of 25 minutes, 24 seconds, besting a field of 322 runners, and finishing 25 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor. Albano was the runner-up at the Paul Short Run a year ago.

Albano was an all-East Region performer and the CACC Runner of the Year in 2011. He has now won all three races he has entered this season, pushing his career total to eight invitational victories, including the 2011 CACC Championship race. Felician, which is ranked No. 8 in the NCAA Division II East Region, next competes on Saturday at the Belmont Classic, hosted by Cheney University.
