Albano Named CACC Runner Of The Week

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College senior Rob Albano (Pompton Plains, N.J./Pequannock Township) has been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Cross-Country Runner of the Week for the period ending Sept. 16, the CACC announced today.

The 5-foot-8 Albano earns the honor following his victory in the Monmouth University Invitational, held Sept. 15 at Holmdel Park. Competing against 68 entrants from all three NCAA divisions, he won the sixth race of his career by clocking a time of 26 minutes, 16 seconds for five miles. Albano finished 23 seconds ahead of the runner-up.

Albano was an all-East Region performer and the CACC Runner of the Year in 2011. He was making his 2012 season debut at Monmouth. Felician, which is ranked No. 7 in the NCAA Division II East Region, next competes on Sept. 22 at the Philly Metro Small College Invitational, hosted by Philadelphia University at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia.

On Monday, two Felician student-athletes from other sports, sophomore men's soccer goalkeeper Anthony Tsouhnikas (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) and junior women's soccer forward Alysia Arcona (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) were named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll.
