RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician College men's cross-country team maintained its No. 7 position in the most recent NCAA Division II East Region ranking, released on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association. The Golden Falcons, guided by 10th-year head coach John Brennan, were also No. 7 in last week's ranking.
Felician's most recent action was a team victory in the 16-school Highlander Challenge, hosted by New Jersey Institute of Technology on Oct. 9 at Branch Brook Park in Newark. All eight team members set personal bests for 8,000 meters at the meet, including junior Rob Albano (Pompton Plains, NJ/Pequannock), who set school and meet records with a 24:59.
Felician travels to the Collegiate Track Conference Championship on Saturday in Jersey City.
The Golden Falcons are the only Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's program in the regional top 10. They are the defending CACC Champion, and have won the conference eight times in their 11-year history. They earned a final regional ranking of No. 10 in 2010.
