Albano Continues To Dominate CACC Weekly Honors

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College junior Rob Albano (Pompton Plains, NJ/Pequannock Township) has been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Cross-Country Runner of the Week, the CACC announced on Monday. Albano has now won or shared that award for four consecutive weeks.

Albano's latest honor came on the heels of a record-setting performance at the Highlander Challenge, hosted by New Jersey Institute of Technology on Sunday at Branch Brook Park in Newark, N.J. Albano won the race, defeating 134 other entrants. With an 8,000-meter time of 24 minutes, 59 seconds, he broke the meet record by 21 seconds and his own school record by 41.

Albano led Felician to the team championship at the 16-team Highlander Challenge. It was the second invitational victory this season for both Albano and the Golden Falcon team.

Albano, who has been Felician's frontrunner in all five of its races this season, wins the CACC Runner of the Week award outright after sharing it a week ago. He earns the honor for the 11th time in his career. He is a 2009 graduate of Pequannock Township High.
