RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshman Kenny Monfort (Spring Valley, N.Y./St. Joseph-Montvale [N.J.]) has been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week for the period ending Sept. 13, the CACC announced today.
Monfort, a 5-foot-6, 150-pound striker, scored three goals last week as Felician split a pair of matches. He tallied twice in the Golden Falcons' 3-1 victory at Queens (N.Y.) College on Sept. 8, and turned in the Felician goal in his team's 4-1 CACC home loss to Goldey-Beacom College on Sunday.
Monfort's three goals on the season tie him for second place in the CACC. He is a 2015 graduate of St. Joseph Regional of Montvale, N.J.
Also on Tuesday, Felician junior men's cross-country runner Mike Secreti (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) was named his sport's CACC Weekly Honor Roll.
Felician men's soccer is guided by second-year head coach Erik Kotynski of Lyndhurst. Monfort and the Golden Falcons (1-2, 0-1) are next in action on Wednesday, when they travel to Bloomfield College for a 7 p.m. kickoff in Bloomfield, N.J.
