RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College senior Josh Delva (South Orange, N.J./Columbia) and sophomore Keleenna Onyeaka (Birmingham, England/Solihull Sixth Form College) have been named to the 2012 All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Second Team. The conference's award winners, which were voted on by its 12 head coaches, were announced Thursday night at the CACC Awards Banquet in Southbury, Conn.
Onyeaka, a 6-foot-3 center back, started all 17 games for the Golden Falcons, recording a team-high four goals. He headed up a Golden Falcon defense which earned all five of its victories by 1-0 scores. Onyeaka was a First-Team All-CACC selection as a freshman in 2011. He is a 2011 graduate of The Sixth Form College in Solihull, England.
"Albert embodies all the qualities one would look for in a center back," said Felician head coach Roger Stephens. "He has size, strength, ability, speed, and tactical awareness, is strong in the air, and is a formidable opponent inside the defending third."
The 5-foot-11 Delva is a fourth-year starter at center midfield, and is a member of the All-CACC Second Team for the third time. In 2012, he started 16 contests and amassed one assist. A 2009 graduate of South Orange High, he is the first student-athlete in Felician history to captain the same sport for four years.
"Josh is an extremely dedicated and hard-working individual," Stephens said. "He toils in the midfield doing the dirty work of shutting down opposing attacks, winning the ball, and initiating an attack."
The Golden Falcons had a 5-10-2 overall won-lost-tied record and finished in ninth place in the CACC with a 4-5-2 league mark.
Felician has now had eight student-athletes earn all-conference honors this academic year.
