LYNDHURST, N.J. – The Chestnut Hill College men's lacrosse team scored five goals in a two-minute, seven-second stretch spanning the first-quarter break, keying its 17-7 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over host Felician University on Wednesday night at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.

Felician (0-9, 0-2 CACC), a first-year program, was hosting its first conference game. The Golden Falcons received two goals each from freshmen Anthony Major II (Staten Island, N.Y./Curtis) and Anthony Hanratty (Hewitt, N.J./West Milford). For midfielder Hanratty, it marked his first collegiate multi-goal game.

Chestnut Hill senior attack Dylan Klusaritz (Slatington, Pa./Parkland) got off 16 of his team's 48 shots. He scored six goals, including the 100th of his career. Griffin freshman J.R. Howell (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) recorded a goal and four assists and picked up five ground balls.

Felician was the first team on the scoreboard when Hanratty collected a pass from Daniel Wright (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) and put a ball past the goalkeeper with 12 minutes,36 seconds left in the first period. It took the Griffins five minutes to equalize, and as the quarter's game clock wound under two minutes, CHC led, 3-1.

Klusaritz scored a man-up goal at the 1:33 mark for a three-goal Griffin edge. CHC added three even-strength unassisted tallies in the period's final 43 seconds, all beginning with a face-off win by sophomore Blake Turner (Tampa, Fla./Newsome). Klusaritz found the net at 0:32 and 0:14, the latter giving him the century milestone. Turner won the opening face-off of the second period, and another quick unassisted tally by Mickey Holland (Brick, N.J./Brick Township) with 34 seconds gone by made the score 8-1.

The Golden Falcons never fully recovered. Felician's Evan Turner (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) scored with 0:22 to go before halftime, but his team still trailed, 10-4, at the intermission.

The halftime score held until Major pulled the Golden Falcons within five with 10:54 showing on the third-period clock. But his team was held scoreless the rest of the period, as the Griffins piled on the game's next five goals.

Chestnut Hill (5-7, 2-0) amassed a 48-18 shot advantage for the night. Turner finished with a game-high seven ground balls and was 19 for 23 on face-offs. Griffin senior goalkeeper Matthew Pedrick (New Milford, N.J./Bergen Catholic) earned the victory with four saves in 48 minutes.

Felician freshman goalie Pat Hemmer (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) made 14 saves and had three ground balls. Wright had a goal and two assists, and freshman defender Cody Hildebrand (Bristol, Conn./Bristol Central) totaled six ground balls to lead the Golden Falcons.

Felician travels to fellow CACC first-year program Wilmington (Del.) University on Saturday for a 1 p.m. face-off in Newark, Del.
