Felician Claims Both Of Season's Final CACC Monthly Golf Awards

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University junior Jake Storako (Laurel Springs, N.J./Highland Regional) has been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Golf Player of the Month for April, the CACC announced on Monday. Additionally, Felician freshman Gonzalo Maldonado Felices (Almeria, Spain/Stella Maris) was selected as the CACC Rookie of the Month for the second consecutive occasion.

For sports that play fall and spring segments, the CACC selects monthly award winners during the season in which the conference championship is not contested. Felician finished in fifth place in the 2018-19 CACC Championship tournament, held Sept. 30-Oct. 1.

Storako played five rounds in April, to a stroke average of 77.0. He finished sixth out of 46 individuals at the Saint Joseph's College Spring Shootout and capped his season with a 73 at the Jefferson Rams Invitational, finishing second via tiebreaker and leading the Golden Falcons to the team title.

Storako broke his own school record by completing the 2018-19 campaign with a scoring average of 76.81. He recorded three top-10 finishes, including a fourth-place result and an all-Tournament selection at the CACC Championship. Storako is a 2016 graduate of Highland Regional High.

Felices' April was highlighted by a third-place finish at Saint Joseph's. He also placed fifth of 68 at Jefferson. He averaged 77.2 for five rounds. For the season, Felices was second to Storako on the Golden Falcons with a stroke average of 77.7. He is a 2018 graduate of Colegio Stella Maris in Madrid, Spain.
