12 Felician Athletes Earn Spring League Academic Honors

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Twelve Felician College student-athletes have been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Spring 2014 All-Academic Team, the CACC announced last week.

In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic Team, recipients must have participated in a CACC spring championship sport, be a second-year student-athlete who used a season of competition in 2014, have been a student at their current school for at least two semesters, and have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher.

The softball team highlighted the list with seven winners, one short of school record for a single sport in one year. Four senior honorees – baseball player Joe Petosa (Spotswood, N.J./Spotswood) and softball teammates Tori Bradburn (Ridge, Md./Great Mills), Kelsi Ludwigsen (Havre de Grace, Md./Harford Tech) and Halei Van Dyke (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) – were third-time selections, the most possible in a single sport.

The 12 honorees are a Felician record for the spring season, topping the 11 the Golden Falcons claimed in Spring 2013. The CACC All-Academic program is in its 10th year.

In all, a CACC spring record 154 student-athletes from the league's 14 member schools were honored across six sports; the complete list can be viewed at http://www.caccathletics.org/news/2013-2014/20140602-springallacademic.
