LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – Junior Jordan Tackett (Fredericksburg, Va./Stafford) shot the best round by a Felician College men's golf team member this season and sophomore Kevin Berdnik (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic) also produced a personal season-low 18 holes as Felician was the overall winner of the Philadelphia University Senior Day Tri-Match on Monday afternoon at the ACE Club.
The tournament was the last event of the 2013-14 season for Felician, which won a tri-match for the first time since April 25, 2010.
Tackett finished second out of 16 entrants with a one-over-par round of 73. His score tied for the sixth-best 18-hole total in the nine-year history of the Felician program, and the lowest since a 73 by teammate Andrew Geesey (Red Lion, Pa./Dallastown Area) on April 14, 2013. Tackett was even-par on the front nine, and missed a birdie putt on the 18th hole in an attempt to be even for the back nine as well.
Geesey tied for fourth overall with an 80. Berdink and freshman teammate Justin Rasmus (Colonia, N.J./Colonia) both shot 83, tying for seventh place. The quartet produced a team score of 319, Felician's best round of the season and seven strokes ahead of the host Rams. Rounding out the starting line-up was senior Chris Zito (South Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack) who shot 86 and placed 10th in his collegiate finale.
NCAA Regional individual qualifier Joe Parker of Philadelphia was the medalist with a 72. Division-III Baptist Bible shot a 351, led by Luke Peterson's third-place total of 75.
