RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Members of the Felician University men's basketball team won or shared all three of that sport's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) weekly honors for the period ending Jan. 20, the CACC announced today.
Felician junior Zamir Wright (Newark, N.J./University HS) was named the CACC Co-Player of the Week, earning that honor for the first time. Golden Falcon freshman Jaylen Colon (Paterson, N.J./John F. Kennedy) was chosen as the league's Rookie of the Week, and senior Rahsaan Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y./Chelsea CTE) is the CACC Defensive Player of the Week.
All three players were chosen on the strength of their performances in the Golden Falcons' 96-90 CACC home victory over Bloomfield College on Jan. 16. It was Felician's first win against the Bears in its last seven tries. The Golden Falcons' other scheduled game last week, a home date with Holy Family University on Saturday, was postponed due to declared states of emergency.

Williams claims the CACC Defensive Player of the Week honor for the second consecutive week, the third time this season and for the fifth occasion in his two-year Felician career. He produced six points, 12 rebounds, and three blocked shots against Bloomfield, and made a key steal in the final minute to help preserve the win. Williams ranks second in the league in rebounding (9.6 pg) and first in blocks (2.5).
Also on Monday, Felician women's basketball junior guard Taliyah Brisco (Cambria Heights, N.Y./Francis Lewis) was named to that sport's CACC Weekly Honor Roll.
