RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician University baseball team is ranked No. 21 in the current National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) national NCAA Division II poll, released Tuesday evening. The Golden Falcons are nationally-ranked for the fourth consecutive week.
Felician (25-9) slipped one spot from its No. 20 ranking last week. The Golden Falcons were passed by Dixie State University, which went from 23rd to 13th, as well as Florida Southern University (25th to 18th) and Northwood (Mich.) University (unranked to 20th). Meanwhile, the University of California-San Diego (14th to unranked) and Nova Southeastern University (18th to unranked) fell underneath Felician in the poll.
The complete poll can be viewed at www.gohilltoppers.com/sports/2017/4/17/2017-ncbwa-national-poll-4-18.aspx. Rankings include records through Sunday's games and did not take into account Felician's two home victories over Philadelphia University earlier on Tuesday.
Felician is ranked No. 2 in the NCBWA Division II East Region Poll. The top team in the region, Southern New Hampshire University, checks in at No. 5 nationally.
Felician is a member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The Golden Falcons next play on Friday in a non-league doubleheader at Wilmington (Del.) University.
Felician baseball is led by 14th-year head coach Chris Langan of Hazlet.
