LYNDHURST, N.J. – The Felician University baseball team combined for 30 base hits in winning both ends of its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader with visiting Goldey-Beacom College, 12-3 and 11-4, on Tuesday evening at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.

The Golden Falcons (20-7, 11-1 CACC) are ranked No. 23 in the latest national NCAA Division II writers' poll. Felician, which has won 14 of its last 16 games, improved to 11-0 at home this season.

Five Felician pitchers combined on a two-hitter in Game 1. Senior right-hander John Holland (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Liberty) (4-0) started and worked five scoreless innings for the victory. Holland (4-0) yielded one hit, struck out five Lightning hitters, and walked two.

The Golden Falcon offense staked Holland to a 7-0 on only four hits after two innings. Three of the runs scored on wild pitches. Junior Matt Diesel (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) lined a two-run single to cap Felician's five-run second inning rally.

Felician added a run in the fourth before Matt Kleinstein's (Marlboro, N.J./Colts Neck) two-run single highlighted a four-run fifth. The Golden Falcons picked up 14 hits and drew seven walks in the contest.

Felician senior Andrew LaMura (Brick, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) went 3 for 3 and scored four runs. Kleinstein and freshman James Greig (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) had two hits each. Junior center fielder Ty Williams (Newark, Del./Harford CC) had a two-run single in a three-run sixth inning for Goldey-Beacom, a first-year program.

Game 2 was a scheduled seven-inning affair, and Felician scored in five of its six offensive frames. The Golden Falcons used five consecutive two-out hits, including a two-run single by Mike Martone (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial), to ring up five first-inning runs.

Junior lefty Jason Polgano (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) made the early offense stand up. Polgano (3-2) worked through five innings and allowed four runs (one earned) on eight hits. He struck out four and walked one.

Diesel and Brennan Price (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) each contributed three hits and two RBI to Felician's 16-hit attack. J.R. Meneses (Lake Worth, Fla./Zion Lutheran) was 3 for 4, and Martone went 2 for 3 and drove in three runs. Designated hitter Brandon Abdul (Old Bridge, N.J./Mercer County CC) was 3 for 4 with a double and a triple for the Lightning (2-22, 2-12).
