RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University sophomore Jason Polgano (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) has been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Player of the Week for the period ending May 8, the CACC announced on Monday. Polgano earned the award for the second time this season.
Polgano, a 6-foot-1 first baseman and pitcher, went 7 for 10 with three doubles and two home runs in a doubleheader at Bloomfield College on May 2. He scored six runs and drove in four as Felician won both games, clinching the 2016 CACC regular-season championship in the process. It was the Golden Falcons' only action of the week.

Earlier on Monday, Polgano was named to the All-CACC First Team at the utility-pitcher position. He finished the regular season with a .359 batting average and a .594 slugging percentage in 47 games. He has 14 doubles, four triples, six home runs, 44 runs scored, and 33 RBI. On the mound, he is 6-1 with a 2.52 earned-run average and 46 strikeouts in nine appearances (eight starts). Polgano is a 2014 graduate of Cardinal Spellman High.
Polgano was also chosen as the CACC Player of the week for the period ending Mar. 27. He was named the CACC Pitcher of the Week for the period ending Mar. 13.
Also on Monday, Felician junior pitcher/designated hitter Brennan Price (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) was named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll for the third consecutive week.
Felician is guided by 13th-year head coach Chris Langan of Hazlet. Polgano and the Golden Falcons (29-18, 14-6 CACC) are the CACC regular-season champions and the top seed for this week's conference tournament. Felician plays No. 4 seed Philadelphia University in first-round action on Thursday at 9 a.m. in New Castle, Del.
