LYNDHURST, N.J. – Wilmington University scored twice with two outs in the top of the eighth inning to earn a come-from-behind 4-3 Game 2 victory and a sweep of its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference baseball doubleheader over host Felician University on Saturday afternoon at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex. Wilmington snapped Felician's program-record nine-game winning streak by capturing Game 1, 8-3.

Juniors Brennan Price (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) and Andrew LaMura (Brick, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) had four hits each on the day for Felician. Wilmington junior left fielder Rocky Ferrier (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) was 4 for 9.

The Golden Falcons (14-15, 6-2 CACC) combined to commit nine errors and leave 20 runners on base in the two games. Wilmington scored 10 of its 12 runs after two were out.

Felician recovered from a 2-0 first-inning Game 2 deficit by tallying single runs in the fourth, sixth, and seventh frames. LaMura and Price came up with consecutive one-out doubles to tie the game in the sixth. Price advanced to third on a wild pitch but was left stranded. In the seventh, LaMura's two-out single up the middle plated Ralph Caccavale (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Plainedge) to give the hosts the lead.

Wilmington (6-13, 4-0) had a runner on first base and two outs in the top of the eighth when Nick Macey (Symrna, Del./Smyrna) drew a walk. Jesse Long (Millsboro, Del./Sussex Central) tied the game with a single to right-center field, and and Max Carney (Wilmington, Del./Concord) pushed a single up the middle to give the visitors a 4-3 lead.

Felician put the go-ahead runs on base against Wildcat closer Kyle Menchaca (Wilmington, Del./Concord) in both the eighth and ninth innings, but came up empty. Menchaca gave up three walks and a hit batsman in two innings of work, but did not allow a hit in earning his third save. Senior Mike Torres (Middletown, Del./Middletown) (1-0) was credited with the victory after getting the final out of the seventh.

Felician junior left-hander Drue Brooks (Spring Hill, Fla./Nature Coast Tech) pitched 6 1/3 innings in a no-decision, giving up two runs – none earned --- on five hits with six strikeouts. LaMura was 3 for 4 with a double and triple and scored twice, and Price was 2 for 3 plus two walks. Felician drew eight walks, but left 12 runners on base. Brooks Ryan (Westminster, Md./Wintersmill) had a double and triple for the Wildcats.

Game 1 was delayed 30 minutes by rain. The Golden Falcons got off to an early lead on an RBI single by Matt Kleinstein (Marlboro, N.J./Colts Neck) in the second, but Wilmington took the lead with two outs in the fifth on an RBI double from Carney and a run-scoring single by Julian Kurych (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink).

The Wildcats scored twice in the fifth inning, aided by two walks and a hit batsman from the Felician bullpen. Wilmington then put the game away with four runs on four hits in the seventh.

Wilmington sophomore right-hander Matt Frost (Newark, Del./St. Mark's) kept the Felician offense off balance for six innings. He allowed one unearned run on four hits with three strikeouts and two walks. Price (1-2) started as the Golden Falcons' pitcher/designated hitter and suffered the loss, giving up three hits and four walks in five stanzas with seven strikeouts. Price was 2 for 3 plus a hit batsman at the plate.

Ferrier was 3 for 5 and scored twice for the Wildcats.
