RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College senior Aaron Brill (West Palm Beach, Fla./John I. Leonard) has been chosen as the NCAA Division II East Region Hitter of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) for the period ending Apr. 6. The NCBWA selected its Hitter and Pitcher of the Week for the eight NCAA Division II regions on Tuesday.

Brill, a 6-foot, 200-pound shortstop, went 8 for 18 (.444) with four extra-base hits in a 3-1 week for the Golden Falcons. In Game 2 of a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader at Philadelphia University on Apr. 2, he hit a go-ahead grand slam in the top of the ninth inning to lead Felician to a 9-7 win and a sweep of the twinbill. For the week, he scored six runs, drove in six, stole three bases, and slugged .833. He was named the CACC Player of the Week.

Brill's .387 batting average and seven triples lead the CACC. In 27 games this season, he has 23 runs scored, 23 RBI, and nine steals.

Senior Jonathan Russell of Queens (N.Y.) College was named the NCBWA East Pitcher of the Week. The NCAA Division II East Region consists of the CACC, East Coast Conference and Northeast-10 Conference, totaling 33 schools.

Felician is guided by 11th-year head coach Chris Langan of Hazlet. The Golden Falcons, ranked No. 7 in the most recent NCBWA regional poll, own an overall won-lost record of 15-13 heading into tonight's home game against Dowling College.
