RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshman Brennan Price (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) has been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Rookie of the Week for the period ending Mar. 16, the CACC announced on Monday.
Price, 6-foot-9 and 275 pounds, started two games at first base and two at designated hitter during a 2-2 week for the Golden Falcons. He batted .444 (8 for 18) and slugged .556 with two doubles, two runs scored, and five runs batted in. In a 13-2 victory over Pace University on Saturday in Cary, N.C., Price drove in four runs and pitched a scoreless inning of relief.
Price has played in 13 games this season for Felician. He is batting .273 with three doubles, a home run and 10 RBI.
Also on Monday, Felician senior outfielder Joe Petosa (Spotswood, N.J./Spotswood) and senior pitcher Stephen Paladino (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's Boys) were listed on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll. Felician softball catcher Kelsi Ludwigsen (Havre de Grace, Md./Harford Tech) was chosen for that sport's CACC Weekly Honor Roll as well.
The Felician baseball team, guided by 11th-year head coach Chris Langan of Hazlet, owns a won-lost record of 7-9. The Golden Falcons next compete on Thursday, when they begin CACC play for 2014 with a doubleheader at Dominican (N.Y.) College at 3 p.m. in Pomona, N.Y. The home opener is set for Friday against Merrimack College at 3 p.m. at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.
