RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College received votes in the 2014 Collegiate Baseball Magazine national NCAA Division II preseason poll.

The poll, which was released on Dec. 24, 2013, can be viewed in its entirety at http://baseballnews.com/collegiate-baseball-div-2-pre-season-poll-12-24-13/.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) is represented in the Collegiate Baseball preseason top 40 by its defending champion, Wilmington (Del.) University (43-14, 17-3 CACC) at No. 26. Felician (21-32, 10-10) is the only CACC squad listed in the "receiving votes" section.

The Golden Falcons, led by 11th-year head coach Chris Langan, are slated to play seven contests against teams in the preseason top 40 (No. 9 Franklin Pierce University – 3; Wilmington – 2, No. 27 Southern New Hampshire University – 2). Nine more tilts among the 50-game schedule are ticketed against squads who received votes. The 2014 Felician College baseball schedule can be viewed at http://www.felicianathletics.com/sports/bsb/2013-14/schedule.

Felician returns seven offensive starters from its 2013 team, including all-region shortstop Aaron Brill (West Palm Beach, Fla./John I. Leonard) (.352, 31 R, 32 RBI, 17 SB). The Golden Falcons also bring back 2012 all-region and Academic All-America outfielder Joe Petosa (Spotswood, N.J./Spotswood) following a "redshirt" season.

Fifth-year senior right-hander Stephen Paladino (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's Boys) (2-4, 4.04 ERA, 44 SO) and junior lefty Jerry Vasto (Atlantic Highlands, N.J./Henry Hudson Regional) (3-1, 2.81 ERA, 58 SO) are the veterans of the pitching rotation. All-CACC reliever Jack Fowler (Shrewsbury, N.J./Red Bank Regional) (5-5, 3.05 ERA, 2 SV, 60 SO) heads a potentially deep bullpen.
